Tableau Software Named a Finalist in 2008 CODiE Awards
Company’s Visual Data Analysis Applications Continue to Receive Industry Accolades
SEATTLE, Wash. – February 28, 2008 – Tableau Software®, the global leader in fast analytics and visualization software, today announced that its visual data analysis software has been recognized by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) as a finalist in its CODiE Awards program. Chosen from among more than 1,000 submitted products, Tableau will compete in the Best Business Intelligence or Knowledge Management Solution category.
Tableau’s award-winning products help people and organizations see and understand their data. Tableau Desktop connects directly to a wide assortment of data sources and integrates data exploration and visualization to make analytics fast and easy for nearly anyone of any experience level. Also available are Tableau Server, which extends the power of Tableau’s analytical capabilities across organizations by providing Web-based sharing and collaboration capabilities, and the company’s free Tableau Reader, which enables anyone to use and benefit from visual analysis. Tableau’s products have already attracted more than 10,000 licensed users in companies from one-person businesses to the world’s largest organizations.
"Competition is tough this year, and that makes selection as a CODiE finalist a real achievement," said Ken Wash, SIIA president. "All the companies on this year’s list should feel justifiably proud of their recognition."
The CODiE Awards celebrate outstanding achievement and vision in the software, digital information and education technology industries. Winners are determined through a unique combination of journalist and peer review and are judged by industry experts from the trade press, consultants, educators and IT specialists.
“We’re honored that SIIA has once again recognized Tableau’s solutions among the best in the industry,” said Christian Chabot, CEO and co-founder of Tableau. “We believe this is an indicator of the increasing importance of effective visual analysis across all types of businesses and skill levels.
Winners will be determined by SIIA member votes and announced at the 2008 CODiE Awards gala on May 20, 2008 at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco.
