How Has the AIDS Epidemic Affected Countries Worldwide?
News reports tell us that the AIDS epidemic is catastrophic but it’s hard to put the numbers and statistics in perspective. This visual example tells the story dramatically: The size of each circle represents the number of deaths from AIDS while the color represents the number of people living with AIDS. From the sheer quantity of large, deeply red circles in Africa compared to the rest of the world, you can easily see the catastrophe of AIDS in Africa. Note that India is also dramatically affected.
