Why does Tableau offer electronic downloads instead of shipping CDs?
Tableau offers e-fulfillment of its products for several reasons:
- Fast: It offers you immediate access to your software.
- Flexible and Permanent: You have access to the download site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your copy of Tableau never goes away.
- Upgrades: You don’t have to worry about what version of the CD you have or wait for new versions to be sent to you in the mail. E-fulfillment means you always have immediate and secure access to our most recent product releases.
How do I download and install Tableau?
When you purchase Tableau you will receive a welcome email that explains what you need to do to download and install the software. Use the included user name and password to log into the Account Center so you can get the software and your product key. You can also follow the step by step instructions on the Download Help page.
If you have not received your welcome email within 24 hours check to see if the email has been caught by your mail filters. Contact Customer Service to have the email re-sent.
Can I still use the old download center?
The old download center has been replaced by our new Account Center. There you can manage your product keys, downloads, and more. The old download center will still be available for a little while but it will not be updated for version 4.0 and will eventually be unavailable. We encourage you to transition to the new center and begin taking advantage of its new features.
