Sales Consultant East
Job description:
The Sales Consultant East is located in the New York City area and is the key technical point of contact for inside and field sales groups. The Sales Consultant provides presales support contributing towards the successful conversion of prospects to customers and engages customers to nurture repeat purchases. Responsibilities include:
- Provide presales support for all sales activities including needs analysis, data review, product demonstrations and other general sales support
- Become an expert in the features, benefits and application of Tableau’s products
- Communicate via phone, email, face-to-face and web meetings with prospects assisting and guiding them through the evaluation and selection process
- Drive all aspects of successful Proof of Concepts from requirements and design to training and delivery
- Communicate daily with sales staff regarding sales activities and strategies
- Deliver web-based training sessions for customers and prospects
- Provide onsite customer training and professional services
- Educate and train the sales force in the features and use of Tableau products
- Provide proactive support to customers and prospects
- Be the customer advocate and liaison for product management and development
- Backup the technical support staff as needed
Experience
We are looking for someone with a strong background in solution selling and other enterprise sales skills as well as excellent presentation skills to both business and technical audiences. In addition we are looking for the:
- Ability to solve problems with varying degrees of difficulty
- Ability to translate knowledge across diverse industries and situations
- Familiarity with databases, business intelligence systems and or data analysis tools
- Understanding of SQL or MDX
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven collaborator and liaison with all levels and departments within an organization
- Technical skill and/or ability to acquire in-depth knowledge and use of Tableau products
Qualifications
- 5 years experience in a Sales Engineer/ Sales Consulting role
- Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or a related field
- Working knowledge of Salesforce.com or equivalent CRM system
- Proven experience succeeding in the sale of software to business users in all industries
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook
